The Telangana government is still under fire from the state high court for filling vacancies in important positions. The court has now given the government a deadline of 20 December to fill various posts that have been lying vacant for several months and now in some cases over the years.

A bench of Chief Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan and Justice A Abhishek Reddy directed the government to rectify the discrepancy while reading a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed by a social activist A Venkanna.

According to the reports, the bench thought that the state government intended to curb corruption and violation of rights, but without giving any of these important posts.

The PIL filed by Venkanna said that the state Lokayukta, the Deputy Lokayukta and the State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) had failed to appoint a new chairman.

This is not the first time that the state government has been called for this exact reason. In August this year, Venkanna, a Khammam-based activist, filed a PIL after the PIL filed due to the PIL pending thousands of cases pending with the Lokayukta and SHRC. Vacancy

For example, the State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) is no longer functional for almost two years, while the State Women's Commission does not have a chairperson for more than a year.

The RTI response of TNM from the Public Information Officer of the Lokayukta in July revealed that 2,767 complaints were received since December 15, 2017, while the total number of complaints pending with the institution was 5,283.
