ISRO to launch Cartosat-3,13 commercial nano satellites

The space agency said that the Indian Space Research Organization or ISRO will launch its Earth imaging and mapping satellite Cartosat-3 on November 25 along with 13 commercial nano satellites from the US.


The satellites will be launched in a sun synchronous orbit by India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle, PSLV-C47 from the Satish Dhawan Space Center (SDSC) stock in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.ISRO said that the launch will be done on November 25, 2019, temporarily on November 25, 2019.

Cartosat-3 is a "third generation agile advanced satellite" with high resolution imaging capability, saying that the satellite will be placed in an orbit of 509 km at an inclination of 97.5 degrees.


The PSLV-C47 is the 21st flight of the PSLV in 'XL' configuration (with 6 solid strap-on motors).

The PSLV-C47 will also carry 13 commercial nano satellites from the United States as part of a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), the Department of Space.ISRO has said, this will be the 74th launch vehicle mission from SDSC SHAR, Sriharikota.
