Senior journalist Rajat Sharma on Saturday resigned as the chairman of the Delhi & Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) citing his inability to continue "various pulls and pressures" within the organization.

Sharma's nearly 20-month tenure was a humiliating one with public differences with his general secretary Vinod Tihara, who supports a reasonable foothold in the organization.

Sharma said in a statement, "The cricket administration here is full of pressure and pressure all the time. I think vested interests always work actively against the interest of cricket."

"It seems that it is not possible in DDCA to follow the principles of honesty, honesty and transparency, which I am not willing to compromise at any cost," he said.

Sharma joined the cricket administration after receiving active support from former Finance Minister Late Arun Jaitley.

Many insiders of the DDCA believe that Sharma once lost to Jaitley, as the late former finance minister was a binding force for all the different factions.

Sharma said, "In my endeavor though I faced many road blocks, protests and harassment, all I had to do was discharge my duties in a fair and transparent manner."

He said, that is why I decided to call it one day and after that with immediate effect submitted my resignation from the President to DDCA.
