Nageshwar Rao takes charge as CBI chief.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sacked Alok Verma, Additional Director M Nageshwar Rao took over as the top post on Friday. And immediately reversed all the decisions taken in the last two days.

Nageshwar Rao, who was made interim chief in October after being sent to Alok Verma forcibly leave, was personally welcomed at the CBI headquarters on Wednesday.

Mr.Verma, after returning to work, reversed many transfers ordered by Mr. Rao, most of his team members, and also ordered the transfer of five officers. Every decision has now been canceled, sources say.

The new chief of CBI,Mr.Nageswar Rao is a 1986 batch IPS officer of Odisha cadre and worked in various capacites in his home state and was on deputation with CBI in 2016

Rao is a post-graduate in chemistry from Osmania University in Hyderabad and did research in IIT-Madras bfore joining police service cader.He served as SP in four Odisha districts,Mayurbhanj,Nabarabgapur,Bargarh and Jagatsinghapur and in Railways and crime branch in Cuttack.Nagaeshwar rao had repotedly used DNA fingerprinting technique in a rape case probe in 1996 in Jagatsinghpur.
